| Information Resources and Demographics projects are intended
to provide Arkansas communities with critical data through surveys, web
site resources, and the Arkansas Economic Atlas project. This type of
data is especially important in obtaining external funding because the
University of Arkansas is well equipped to write grant proposals while
rural communities often do not have the infrastructure needed to do this.
Likewise, rural communities are often eligible for grants not available
to University of Arkansas and vice versa. Thus, enhanced information
resources and demographic information can do much to help form mutually
beneficial partnerships between the University of Arkansas and the people
of the state. An example of success was the Delta Regional Authority
Grant of $310,000 received by the Cross County Economic Development Corporation
with UAEDI as a partner. Demographics, Maps and other data source linkages Information Resources and Demographic Projects to date (PDF)
